Healthy Fit is a health club and fitness center requires privacy, yet the existing location featured an exposed storefront on a busy street. The design of a screen wall and reception area preserves the storefront’s integration with the urban streetscape while providing privacy for exercising members. The transparent screen wall is built out of hundreds of glass water bottles. It filters views and light from the front reception area into the workout spaces behind, giving privacy while allowing light to pass through.
The simple, singular element of the water bottle reinterprets the idea of a glass block wall. The message of the club – health and purity – is playfully represented and, as a merchandising plus, the club can sell the water bottles.
